Good morning everyone,
Today we started off by having an incredible morning workout, followed by another great breakfast at Fatima's and headed to the school. It was Aidan and Zoe's first time meeting the kids, who absolutely love them. Zoe used to be an English teacher in Singapore, so she was very excited to teach the kids. Aidan spent most of his day playing with the kids in kindergarten, taking them around on piggyback rides and teaching them songs he learned when he was their age in NYC. CJ also joined Aidan and spent most of the day teaching and playing with the kids. I took the opportunity to update the blog and finish painting the pillars in front of the Director's office. After lunch we played Sepak Takraw against the director and all the kids were watching and going absolutely crazy in the sidelines.
We finished work around 4:30pm and headed to a school nearby to play soccer with the kids. At first we thought it was just another game of soccer, but they took it very serious. There was a crowd of students watching and even a referee. It was a great time, especially because we met different kids from the village and enjoyed our time sharing a mutual passion, SOCCER, a world language. After soccer we headed home, showered and spent the night playing cards at Fatima's with some of our new friends who are teachers in town.
We have another full day tomorrow and are hoping to finish most of the painting. We also got a surprise for Zoe and Aidan... stay tuned.
